A Call for Evidence in review of Mobile Homes Act 2013

We had previously discussed the implementation of this Act when it came into force in April 2014.

The Mobile Homes Act 2013 made significant changes to the Law on park homes, the Government committed to a review of the Act in 2017.

In order to assist this, there is now a call for evidence about practices in the sector and the effectiveness of the Legislation itself, this is in two parts;

  • Part 1, is a call for evidence on the fairness of charges, the transparency of site ownership and any experience of harassment this is open for information now.
  • Part 2, following shortly,   will be a call for evidence on how effective local authority licensing has been, how well the procedures for selling mobile homes, making site rules and pitch fee reviews are working and whether ‘fit and proper’ controls need to be applied in the sector.

The call for evidence can be downloaded from https://www.gov.uk/. The deadline for responses is 27 May 2017.

Should any operators become subject to enforcement, please contact one of our licensing solicitors.
